Beth Lehman
Founder and Chief Executive Offier
Beth Lehman is a corporate IT consultant turned national patient advocate, two-time cancer and liver transplant survivor, and the founder of The Liver Circle, Inc.
For over two decades, Beth climbed the corporate ladder as a top-level IT consultant for Ernst & Young LLC and Verizon Business. However, a grueling schedule of traveling 50 weeks a year fueled a severe, 20-year struggle with alcoholism. Even after the travel stopped, the dependency remained, culminating in late 2019 with a devastating diagnosis of advanced cirrhosis and liver cancer. Facing a terminal prognosis, Beth received the ultimate gift of life on April 19, 2021, through a life-saving liver transplant at the Piedmont Transplant Institute in Atlanta, Georgia.
Waking up less than 12 hours after surgery feeling profoundly reborn, Beth resolved to channel her second chance into helping others.
What began as a personal mission quickly evolved into systemic advocacy. In 2023, she served as the Principal Strategic Advisor to implement Sober Livers, the first national peer-to-peer support group specifically for patients diagnosed with Alcohol-Associated Liver Disease (ALD). Beth spent a year and a half building the organization's structure, engaging key medical professionals, and successfully launching the program in June 2024.
Recognizing a further gap in the broader liver patient care landscape—where invaluable resources existed but were incredibly difficult for patients to navigate—Beth founded The Liver Circle, Inc. in 2026. Rather than replicating existing efforts, the organization serves as a centralized hub that consolidates fragmented support networks, offers critical in-hospital peer support, hosts cutting-edge educational webinars, and features interactive, liver-healthy cooking classes.
A sought-after national speaker, Beth has shared her journey with audiences ranging from local high schools to elite medical institutions, including Emory University, Virginia Commonwealth University, Columbia University, and Duke University. On a global stage, she serves on the Patient Advisory Group for the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), where she shapes patient programming for the world's leading hepatology medical professionals at their annual conference, "The Liver Meeting."
Beth’s hands-on community leadership extends across multiple premier organizations. She is a dedicated champion for the American Liver Foundation, where she has served as Chair for two of their signature Liver Life Walks. Celebrating the vibrant life made possible by organ donation, she attended the 2024 Transplant Games of American as a proud member of Team Georgia. She also serves on the Piedmont Hospital Donate Life committee, spearheading public education and awareness campaigns every April for Donate Life Month.
Today, Beth views her transplant as the most transformative milestone of her life, second only to her marriage. She remains fiercely dedicated to ensuring that no liver patient ever has to walk their path alone.
